Tuition and Financial Aid
Educational costs are assessed each semester and based on the number of credits a student enrolls in per term. Students can expect a moderate tuition increase each academic year, and the Board of Trustees at NYU reserves the right to alter the schedule of fees without notice.
For the 2021-2022 academic year, tuition and fees are:
- Cost per credit: $1,942
- Registration/service fee for first credit/term: $528
- Registration/service fee for additional credits/term: $73
Students in the MS program in Communicative Sciences and Disorders can expect to pay approximately $93,216 in tuition for the 48 graduate-level credits. Please note that this cost does not include foundation courses, which students may need to take in addition to the 48 graduate-level credits. In addition to tuition, students must pay registration and student fees. All fees are calculated per term.
Speech@NYU students are also required to attend two immersions at our New York City campus and are responsible for travel and lodging costs.

Financial Aid
NYU Steinhardt offers many forms of financial aid to help fund your graduate studies. Financial aid packages take into consideration financial need and academic merit. Your financial aid package may include federal loans.
In order to apply for Federal student aid with NYU, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The NYU school code is 002785. The FAFSA must be completed for each academic year you are enrolled.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan: Most graduate level students are potentially eligible to receive up to $20,500 per academic year in the Direct Unsubsidized Loan.
Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan: This credit-based loan is a supplement to the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. The maximum loan amount is the student’s cost of attendance minus any other financial aid received.
Speech@NYU applicants may be considered for scholarships, based upon their application for admission. No separate application for scholarships is necessary. These scholarships will be awarded to a select number of aspiring speech language pathologists committed to making a difference in their community.
